Bafel Talabani

Bafel Talabani
Bafel Jalal Hiisamaddin Talabani. He is the eldest son of the previous president of Iraq Jalal Talabani and brother of Qubad Talabani the Deputy Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government, he was born on #01-01-1973# in Baghdad.[1] He has spent his childhood and youth in United Kingdom in his grandfather's house who is the former Kurdish writer and Politician Ibrahim Ahmed.
He has spent his youth with reading and doing sports, his wife's name is Lava who is daughter of Mala Bakhtiyar who is a joint leader of the Supreme political council of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK).
In 1996 he has joined and participated in the training of the Foreign Legion of the French forces.
In 1998 he has participated in the British Forces trainings.
In 2000 he has participated in the private American forces trainings.
He has studies political strategies In USA and UK.
At first he came back to Kurdistan as a translater with the American forces, later He formed the (Counter Terrorism Group) which is also known as (Lexoman Parastin) with his cousin Lahur Sheikh Jangi Talabani.
After the death of his father Jalal Talabani he started to make more appearances and became more active, he was trying to reconcile between the dissenting voices inside and outside PUK.
Until the fourth congress of PUK he didn't have any formal Post in the Party.
In the same congress by 791 votes he was selected as one of the members of General Leadership Council of the Party.
On #18-02-2020# by the majority of voices of the members of the General Leadership Council he was elected as the Co-President of PUK with Lahur Sheikh Jangi Talabani.[2]
