Nechirvan Idris Mustafa also known as Nechirvan Barzani. was born in the town of Barzan on
21-09-196621-09-1966. He is the Deputy President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the second President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq since the formation of the Kurdistan Presidency in 2005.
In
19751975 after Iraq and Iran agreed agiants the Kurdish Revolution of that time (The Eylul Revolutin) he and his family became refugees in Iran.
In Iran he started studying political science in university of Tehran.
His father Idris Barzani was a Politburo of Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), and had a major role in Kurdish fight for freedom.
From an early age he became Peshmarga.
In
19891989 he became a Politburo of KDP.
In
19961996 he became the Deputy prime minister of Kurdistan Regional Government ( KRG).
In
19991999 he became the Prime minister of KRG (the fourth cabinet).
On
05-07-200605-07-2006 he became the Prime Minister of KRG (the united cabinet).
He likes horse riding, swimming and hiking.
He is married to his cousin Nabila Barzani and he is the father of 5 children, his eldest son is Idris Nechirvan barzani.
He is the cousin of
Masrour BarzaniMasrour Barzani The Prime minister of KRG, and the nephew of
Masoud BarzaniMasoud Barzani previous President of Kurdistan Region in Iraq.
On
28-05-201928-05-2019 He became the President of Kurdistan Region in Iraq.
