Mustafa Pasha Yamulki
Mustafa Pasha Yamulki
He is the son of Aziz Yamulki from Biyara town in Hawraman, eastern border of Sulaymaniyah. He was born on 25-01-1866 in Goizha neighbourhood in the city of Sulaymaniyah. He started his education at the Haji Saeed Hassan and was taught by Mullah Fattah and Irfan Afandi. Later, he contiued his education in military schools in Baghdad and Istanbul until he graduated in 1885 with rank of second lieutenant and he joined the army in 1886 as first lieutenant.
In 1888 he married Safia daughter of Hussain Pasha Khandan, and in the same year he was promoted to captain. In 1889 he was promoted to major. In 1892 he was promoted to Lieutenant colonel.
He arrived back in Sulaymaniyah on #04-10-1921#. On #12-07-1922# he became the head of Jam’yiati Kurdistan, and on #05-09-1922# he became a member of the governing committee of Sulaymaniyah after the British forces left the city. He became in charge of the newspaper (Call of Kurdistan) where he released 13 prints of the newspaper while in charge.
On 03-03-1923 he was part of a delegation that went to Kerkuk and Baghdad for negotiations. Druing the second round of British rule in the city, he released the 14th print of the mentioned newspaper on his own. On #17-06-1923# he moved to live in Baghdad, where he released three more prints of (Call of Kurdistan) newspaper.
On 25-01-1936 he passed away in Baghdad, and following his own will, we was buried in (Saiwan hill) in his own city of Sulaymaniyah.[1]
