Sharam Nazeri was born in 1949 in Kermanshah to an artistic family. Like most singers, he inherited his beautiful voice from his parents since childhood. It is said that his father had a beautiful voice and followed the style of the late Khasma Sheikh Dawoodi and so his son showed talent in singing from a very young age. The leader of his family in the field of art was the late Haji Khani Nazri, who taught most of the artists of Kermanshah the original Iranian music.
Sharam Nazri's father played the setar and his mother had a beautiful voice. At the age of nine, he performed his first artistic program on Radio Kermanshah with the instrument of Tar. At the age of 11, Sharam Nazeri hosted several artistic programs on Iranian radio and television. To improve his knowledge and familiarity with music, he went to his uncle Ali Nazri and Darwish Nemat Ali Khani Kharabati and became more acquainted with the world of Kurdish music. Then he went to learn from many distinguished teachers to expand his artistic knowledge. In 1966, he continued his artistic studies with teachers such as the late Abdullah Khani Dawami, Noor Ali Khani Broomand, Abdul Ali Waziri, Mahmoud Karimi, and others. He settled in Tehran and studied with other teachers such as Ahmad Ebadi, Mahmoud Tajbakhsh, Jalal Zulfnoon and Mahmoud Hashemi. Sharam Nazri spent nearly a year in Tehran working and practising with local musicians such as Bijgakhany and Mahmoud Farnam Qitanchian, who were students of Iqbal Azar.
In 1975, at the suggestion of Noor Ali Broomand, he was appointed to the Radio and Television Agency and performed his first artistic program with the Shaida Band under the supervision of Mohammad Reza Lutfi with a poem from Rumi's Masnavi and a song by Sheikh Baha'i.[2]
