He was born in 1951 in Marga village. He completed his primary education there and is a writer in Qaladze township.
He completed his secondary and high school in Qaladze. He was the first of the Sulaymaniyah Brigade in the literary department.
He graduated from the English Department of Baghdad University in 1971.
In 1979, he was elected president of the Kurdish Writers Union – Sulaymaniyah Branch.
He wrote Philosophy of Beauty and Art in 1979 to establish the Department of Kurdish Studies at Sulaymaniyah University.
In 1982, he received a master's degree in philosophy of history from the University of Essex, UK. He taught philosophy and literary criticism at the same university.
In 1987, he received his PhD in English Literature, European Oriental Studies.
In 1992, he received a master’s degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of London.
In 1992, he helped establish the Kurdish relief organization KLA to build schools, hospitals, and water projects in Marga, Pishder and Dukan.
Since 1997, he has been Director of the Foundation for the Promotion of Ethnic Minority Civil Society Organizations in London.
Annual training programs in the fields of community development, leadership, strategic planning, and democratic governance, etc.
He writes for more than 300 organizations and his booklets have been translated into six languages.
He has written more than 20 books in Kurdish and English on poetry, literary criticism, philosophy, political issues, and social progress.
He has established six Kurdish-language magazines and newspapers abroad.
From 1985 to 1990, he was the president of the Kurdish Cultural Center in London and led all campaigns and activities for the right of self-determination for the Kurdish people.
In 2009, he ran for the presidency of the Kurdistan Region.[1]
