Hassan Garmiani
Hassan Garmiani
His name is Hassan Abdullah Mohammed Agha and he was born in 1945 in Qadir Karam village, where he also completed his primary education.
He graduated from agricultural high school in 1965-1966 in Sulaymaniyah.
On 29-11-1966 he started working as an appointed teacher in Bakrajo Agricultural High School.
His first song was “Khom Qurbani Sukhmay Koni” on the stage of Sulaimani High School with the Sulaimani Music Band. In 1971, he shot two songs at a ceremony on the second anniversary of March 11 in Khuld Hall, which introduced Hassan Garmiani to his listeners, viewers and audiences.
Hassan Garmyani considers himself the property of Kurdistan and Kurdistan is his property. Therefore, upon his return to Kurdistan, he gave his first concert in Karkuk with the help of Shafaq Music Group and the second in Erbil with the help of National Arts Group under the supervision of Zagros TV. His third work was for Kurdsat TV and his fourth work was for Kurdistan TV.
Hassan Garmiani says he does not belong to any party and considers all parties as his property. Hassan Garmiani says he is loyal to the artists who have worked for him. These include teachers and artists Anwar Karadaghi, Khalid Sarkar, Salah Rauf, Albert Isa, Warya Ahmad, Sar Dar, Hussein, Amanj Ghazi, Sayed Ahmad Rawandzi, Farhang Ghafoor, Sherzad Sarspi, Goran Kamil, Dilêr Hussein, Cheto Newroz, Farooq Bapir,
(I would like to thank my son Belan and all the teachers who have worked for me.)
Hassan Garmyani was promised several times by the Ba'ath regime to become a district administrator and then a member of the legislative and executive council on condition that he became a Ba'athist in return. However, Hassan Garmyani refused and was imprisoned. His works were not broadcast on Kirkuk TV for two years. The Ba'ath regime has constantly tried to find various excuses for him to sing songs for Ba'ath and Ba'ath celebrations in exchange for land, money and cars. However, Hassan Garmiani continued to refuse. He was tortured and imprisoned, but through the efforts of people involved in the government, they tried to rescue him. He was forced to leave Sulaymaniyah and return home to Erbil.
In 1970, Hassan Garmaini became a member of the Sulaymaniyah Music Band, where he performed most of his works.
In 1997 he moved abroad.
Hassan Garmianni still continues to serve Kurdish art.[1]
