Dr. Firsat Sofi, the candidate of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), was elected governor of Erbil in the 70th session of the Erbil provincial council on Thursday 12-09-2019.
Firsat Sofi was elected governor of the Erbil provincial council with 27 votes out of 28 members of the council.

He was born on 31-05-1978 in Gazna village of the Choman township. He is married. He has got a Doctorate and a Master’s degree on the Public Law. He was a Lecturer and a Teacher at Erbil Polytechnic University.
