Salih Mohammed Muslim
Leader of the Democratic Union Party
Born in 1951, Salih Mohammed was the former leader of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), the most influential party in West Kurdistan.
Salih Mehmed studied at Istanbul Technical University and has five children.
Salih Muslim, a poor boy from the village of Sherana in Kobanê, completed his primary education in Kobanê and then, for several reasons, completed his secondary education in Damascus and in 1969 in the science department at al-Quakbi High School in Aleppo. ❞

He went to Istanbul to study at the Technical University/College of Chemical Engineering, graduating in 1977 and then heading to London to learn English. After returning to Saudi Arabia, he worked for the Petromin Agency of the Saudi Ministry of Oil, where he became a member of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) through several Kurds. ?
Arrested on 25-02-2018 in Prague at the request of Turkey!
After 1990, he returned to Kobani and worked as a chemical engineer without interrupting his political activities.

He became a member of the Political Bureau of the National Democratic Social Party (NDP), which was founded in 1998. The PYD (Democratic Union Party) was established in 2003 to promote the contemporary Kurdish struggle in the West, with Salih as a member of its executive committee. Since then, he has been repeatedly hunted down and arrested by Syrian intelligence agencies. In September 2010, he was appointed party leader at the Fourth Congress of PYD. In 2013, Salih Muslim's son was killed in the fighting to liberate the West.
He was arrested on 25-02-2018 in Prague at the request of Turkey in the Czech Republic. He was released on 27-02-2018 after appearing before a Czech court.[1]
