- Bayan Salman was born in 1961 in Kirkuk. She completed his primary, secondary and high school education in Arabic.
- From 1981 to 1986, she graduated from the College of Economics and Commerce at Baghdad University.
- From 1988 to 1991 she taught at Ranya Commercial High School.
- From 1992 to 1998 she worked in humanitarian organizations.
- From 2000 to 2001, she obtained a diploma in contemporary literature from the University of Paris VIII.
- From 2001 to 2002 she obtained a bachelor's degree.
- From 2002 to 2004, she obtained a bachelor's degree in contemporary literature and French literature, specializing in autobiographical literature and biography.
- From 2004 to 2005, she obtained a master's degree in contemporary literature and French literature, specializing in fiction.
