He was born on 01-07-1938 in Sulaymaniyah, where he completed his primary, secondary and high school education. In 1960, he graduated from the College of Agriculture of Baghdad University and was appointed a lecturer at Mosul University /Scotland/ Studied in Manchester, UK, in 1967, in the Department of Natural Resources Forestry. In 1974, he received his PhD from the Department of Turba at the same university on a Colbankian scholarship. He is fluent in Kurdish, Arabic and English. He has been living in the Netherlands since 1996.
He is a member of both the British and International Turba Scientific Societies.
1960-1965: Assistant Professor of Scientific Discussion at Baghdad University.
In 1976-1977, he was the head of the department of Turba, College of Agriculture, Sulaymaniyah University.
From 1977 to 1981, he was the Dean of the College of Agriculture at Sulaymaniyah University.
He was the president of Sulaymaniyah University for six months before moving to Erbil.
After moving to Erbil and changing its name to Salahaddin University, he served as president of the university from 1981 to 1994.
From 1983 to 1986, he was the President of CASAF-Iraq, which is part of the Union of International Scientific Discussion Councils.
From 1981 to 1991, he was the editor-in-chief of the University Magazine of Salahaddin.
From 1974 to 1990, he participated in all the conferences held in Iraq on agriculture.
He attended all the special conferences held in 1977-1988 in the Arab countries on how to manage agricultural colleges.
From 1981 to 1991, he attended all legal meetings of the Union of Arab Universities.
In 1984, he attended the Casafa International Conference in Ottawa, Canada.
In 1983, he attended an international conference of the World University Union in Munich, Germany.
In 1982 and 1983, he participated in two international conferences on nuclear energy in Rome, Italy and Vancouver, Canada.
He has visited many universities in the UK, Denmark, China, Indonesia, the Netherlands, Turkey, Germany, Austria and many Arab countries.
