Dastan Jasim is a Research Fellow at the German Institute for Global and Area Studies in Hamburg and a PhD Candidate in Political Sciences at the Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg. Since 2017 she is also a conflict researcher at the Heidelberg Institute for International Conflict Research and covers the Kurdish conflicts in Iraq and Syria. Her research covers different aspects of the Kurdish Question like political culture, transnationalism, political sociology, security policy and post-conflict reconstruction. She obtained her BA in Social Sciences at the University of Stuttgart and her MA in Political Science and Assyriology at Heidelberg University.[1]
