Hogr Goran
Hogr Goran
Hogar Goran was born on 01-07-1934 in Qardagh. He is the son of the great Kurdish poet Goran. He completed his primary and secondary education in Sulaymaniyah. He has seen many hardships in his life, but fortunately he has overcome his obstacles and continued.
When he was in fourth and fifth grade, he was arrested and released before the final exams. With that pain, he gets good grades and drops out of high school because of his skills and intelligence.
He was employed with his fifth grade high school diploma, which is now the equivalent of being in the twelfth grade.
He was first employed in the Sulaymaniyah Agricultural Department. Before being employed, he worked as an English-to-Kurdish translator in the Darbandikhan Tunnel Project because he spoke good English.
He was arrested, tortured and imprisoned several times for his different opinions, so he moved his work from Sulaymaniyah to Erbil.
In the early 1970s, he worked for five years in the Erbil Agricultural Reform Department, then returned to Sulaymaniyah and in 1977 and 1978 he was arrested again in the Sulaymaniyah Public Security. He was released after several months and then went to Poland for treatment. He then returned to Sulaymaniyah and remained in office until 1983. Baath Party always watched him so he was forced to retire.
Hogar Goran was a poet and wrote many articles in magazines and newspapers. He was a member of the Kurdish Writers Union.
Hogar Goran has four brothers and two sisters.
His brothers:
Azhi Goran, Shaho Goran, Halo Goran, Farhad Goran
His sisters: Hero Goran, Piroza Goran.
Only Shaho Goran, Hiro Goran and Piroza are still alive
Mr. Shaho passed away in Erbil, Dr. Hero lives in Sulaymaniyah and Piroza lives in Bahrain.
In 1962, he married Mrs. Nasrin Qadir Abdulmanaf, a lady from a prominent family in Halabja.
They had six children.
Name: Rebwar, Rekposh, Hoshyar, Ronak, Chnar, Jutyar.
Hogar Goran passed away on 30-12-2016 in Sulaymaniyah and was buried in Saywan Hill next to his father's grave.[1]
