Mustafa Nariman is a well-known writer and educator in Kurdistan.
Mustafa Sayed Ahmad Barzanji is the full name of this intellectual and is known in the world of literature as Mustafa Nariman.
He was born on June 28, 1925 in Kifri, South Kurdistan.
He completed his education in Kifri, Kirkuk and Baghdad. He was employed as a teacher and served the education sector for more than forty years.
Mustafa Nariman was passionate about literature since his youth and began publishing his works for the first time in 1942.
He was the first person to set the Kurdish calendar in 1957 and was imprisoned for it by the state. He later published two other calendars, named Kurdistan and Piramerd.
Mustafa Nariman was also the first person to write a bibliography for Kurdish books.
Mustafa Nariman has many literary and educational works.
He has published 20 books including (Hawari Lawan, Halbast Bo Qutabiyan, Ali Afani, Kurdish Library, Mamostay Nemr, Bibliography of Kurdish Books 1878-1975, Kurdish Spelling from Roots, Dictionary of Kurdish Writers and Litterateurs, Diwani Mina Jaf) and many others.
He has also co-translated and published more than 20 school curriculum books.
Mustafa Nariman was a loyal and patriotic person who was imprisoned and dismissed several times for his political positions, but he remained loyal and pure to his people.
Nariman served as a journalist, secretary of Bayan magazine and editor-in-chief of Rangin magazine.
He has published his works in magazines and newspapers (Galawezh, Dangi Geti Taze, Roji Nwe, Hawkari, Roshnbiri Nwe, Bayan, Rangin).
Unfortunately, this famous Kurdish cultural figure died on May 27, 1994 in Baghdad and was buried there in the cemetery of Mohammed Skran.[1]
