Mariwan Safadin (born 1972 in #Halabja# , Kurdistan) is a Kurdish singer from Halabja, Kurdistan. He has sung in both Central and South Kurdish. Mariwan Safadin was born in 1972 in the village of Ababayli in Halabja and lived there until 1988 when the chemical attack on Halabja happened he was there; According to him, he was also wounded by the chemical attack, and left Halabja for Sulaymaniyah because of the chemical attack. He also could not complete his education because of the chemical attack. In 1996, he left Kurdistan for Europe, where he lived for two years in Germany and 10 years in Iceland. He then moved to Sweden where he has lived for more than 10 years. Mariwan started his career in 1993 through Bahjat Yahya and in the same year he released his first song called Hay Bawa Bawa in the program Keshkol on Kurdistan People's Channel. In 1996, he recorded six solo songs. Mariwan was also a member of the Kurdish folk music group, which gave several concerts with the group in both #Erbil# and #Sulaymaniyah# . Mariwan has released only two albums, Diya in 2002 and Jezhwan in 2006. He has also released several singles. He has given concerts at several events abroad. Mariwan also sang two or three Hawrami songs, the poems of which belonged to Mawlawi. In 2014, during the fight between Peshmerga and ISIS, he sang and published a song for Peshmerga and Kurdistan. In 2017, he released a song in Kalhori called Baw Baw. In 2020, Kamal Mohammed and Mariwan released a music video called Aferin.
