Omar Said Ali
He was born in the year 1945 in the Sheikhan neighborhood of the city of Sulaymaniyah. He has finished the teacher's institute. In 1976, he was sentenced to six years in prison. After spending three years in prison, he was granted a general amnesty and released. After his release from prison, he was elected a member of the leadership of Komala and the leadership of the PUK. In the year 1980, he was wounded in an air strike on Kewarash Hill and was sent to Sweden. Since then, he has overseen the PUK's organizations in Europe. He was elected as a member of the leadership and then the Political Bureau at all congresses of the PUK. In 1992, he became a member of the Kurdistan Parliament.
He was also in charge of the PUK's Sulaymaniyah headquarters for many years. In 2009, he resigned from the PUK Political Bureau along with Nawshirwan Mustafa, Qadir Haji Ali, Osmani Haji Mahmoud, Mohammed Tofiq Rahim and Mustafa Sayed Qadir. Before being elected as the secretary general of Goran, he was the supervisor of Goran factions. On #25-07-2017# he became the Secretary General of the Goran Movement.

$Resignation$

Omar Sayed Ali on October 13, 2021, due to the poor results of the Goran Movement in the early elections to the Iraqi parliament and the fact that in 2021, the movement failed to win any seats in the Iraqi parliament elections and at the same time to take responsibility for the political failure of Goran, they announced their resignation along with members of the movement's general council.[1]
