The aim of this Master’s essay is to examine Kurdish politicians’ stance in Turkey concerning the recognition of the Armenian Genocide and try to analyze the major reasons of why these politicians publicly speak about and recognize the Armenian Genocide. First of all, the study reviews the main literature on the concepts of non-state actors, stateless nations with the aim of trying to underline the major characteristics of these actors and what role they can have in state affairs. Then, the study tries to apply those concepts to Kurds as one of the ethnic groups without their own independent state who can have an impact on Turkey’s social and political life.[1]
