Ten years ago, the Yazidi community faced unimaginable crimes. Yazda, together with Sinjar Academy and Free Yezidi Foundation is publishing a Policy Paper which dives deep into the ongoing challenges faced by the Yazidi community, including protracted displacements, the lack of safety and guarantees of non-repetition, the reconstruction of Sinjar. It also underlines the remarkable efforts of the Yazidi community to recover and rebuild, 10 years after the beginning of the genocide.
This report is not just a recounting of the past but a call to action. It highlights the need for continued support, comprehensive transitional justice process and safety for the Yazidi community.
