After the PKK announced that it had held its 12th Congress, Kurdish politician Leyla Zana made a statement on X (formerly Twitter).

Zana wrote: The new era, new hopes, and new forms of struggle put new responsibilities on all of us. We must approach a democratic, egalitarian, fair and free future with this awareness and sensitivity. I hope that it will be beneficial for our region in the light of these feelings and thoughts.[1]
