The #KNK# issued a call for participation in the march and rally to be held in Lausanne tomorrow, Saturday, to mark the 102nd anniversary of the Treaty of Lausanne.
The Executive Council of the Kurdistan National Congress (KNK) called for participation in the march and rally to be held in Lausanne tomorrow, Saturday, to mark the 102nd anniversary of the Treaty of Lausanne.
In a written statement, the KNK called on all parties, institutions, organizations, and notable Kurdish figures to attend the march and rally in Lausanne and to use the event as a platform to publicly share their messages. The KNK also announced that it will present a declaration in Lausanne.
The statement noted that the Treaty of Lausanne was the main agenda item at the KNK Executive Council’s meeting on July 5, and included the following excerpt from the final declaration: “We are marking the 102nd anniversary of the Treaty of Lausanne. On this anniversary, the KNK aims to introduce a new debate to the agenda of all Kurds. The Sykes-Picot and Lausanne status quo is collapsing. The map of the Middle East is changing. As Kurds and the people of Kurdistan, we must unite as soon as possible and take a stance in accordance with this situation. Therefore, we call on all Kurdish parties, institutions, and forces—and the entire Kurdish people—to come together in a national conference and to formulate a joint strategy.”
The statement added that KNK will reiterate this call in Lausanne on the 102nd anniversary of the treaty: “On this occasion, we invite all Kurdish parties and institutions to be in Lausanne and to raise our collective voice. We ask all parties, institutions, organizations, and influential figures to convey their messages on this matter to the public in Lausanne. As the KNK, we will also present a declaration there.”
