1999 Şubatı’ndan bu yana İmralı Cezaevi’nde tutuklu bulunan Kürt Halk Önderi Abdullah Öcalan, İmralı’da kaldığı süre boyunca çok sayıda kitap çalışmasına imza attı. Bu kitapların büyük çoğunluğu da yayınevimiz tarafından basılarak okuyuculara sunuldu.
Tutuklu bulunduğu süre boyunca görüş ve düşünceleriyle, ezber bozan çıkışlarıyla Türkiye ve Ortadoğu gündeminin en üst sıralarında yer alan Kürt Halk Önderi, 2013 Newrozu’nda başlattığı ve uzun bir süre büyük bir ısrar ile devam ettirdiği demokratik çözüm süreciyle yine tüm dünyanın gündemine damgasını vurmuştu. Yüzyıllardır çözülemeyen, son 40 yıldır on binlerce insanın hayatını kaybetmesine sebep olan Kürt sorununun çözümü için en büyük fedakarlık, dirayet ve çabayı gösterdi.[1]
