Aysel Tuğluk
Die Kampagne „1000 Frauen für Aysel Tuğluk hat einen Brandbrief veröffentlicht, in dem sie das Vorgehen des Gerichts, die an Demenz erkrankte kurdische Politikerin Aysel Tuğluk zur Videostellungnahme zu zwingen, als Menschheitsverbrechen geißelt.
Der türkische Staat versucht, an der an Demenz erkrankten kurdischen Politikerin Aysel Tuğluk ein Exempel zu statuieren. Die Politikerin soll aus der Haft zwangsweise ihre Verteidigung per Video vortragen. Diese Entscheidung im sogenannten Kobanê-Verfahren war während der 14. Sitzung vom Gericht getroffen worden. Am folgenden Tag wurde Tuğluk aus dem Gefängnis in Kandıra in die Gerichtsverhandlung zugeschaltet, aufgrund ihres schlechten Gesundheitszustands war sie aber kaum in der Lage, zu sprechen und Fragen zu beantworten. Tuğluk wurde vom Vorsitzenden Richter unter Druck gesetzt: „Was ist Ihre Verteidigung, beginnen Sie mit ihrer Verteidigung.“ Daraufhin musste Tuğluk antworten: „Ich befinde mich in einer besonderen Situation. Weil ich krank bin, kann ich mich nicht ausdrücken. Aufgrund dieser Krankheit werde ich meine Verteidigung nachreichen.“
„Sie dazu zu zwingen, am Verfahren teilzunehmen, ist ein Verbrechen“
Die Kampagne „1000 Frauen für Aysel Tuğluk“ (Aysel Tuğluk İçin 1000 Kadın – Aysel Tuğluk'a Özgürlük) fordert Behandlungsbedingungen für Aysel Tuğluk, „die den Menschenrechten entsprechen“ und die sofortige Freilassung, da ihr sonst weitere irreversible Schäden drohen: „Jeder Tag, den die an Demenz erkrankte Aysel Tuğluk im Gefängnis verbringt, jede Praxis, welche den Verlauf der der Krankheit verschlimmert, jede Behandlung, die ihre Gesundheit irreversibel schädigt, ist ein Verbrechen gegen die Menschlichkeit. Sie dazu zu zwingen, am Verfahren teilzunehmen, gehört zu diesen Verbrechen. Alle Verwaltungs- und Justizbehörden, insbesondere das Justizministerium, die angesichts von Aysel Tuğluks Zustand auf solch einer Praxis, die ihre Gesundheit bedroht, beharren, und diejenigen, die dabei zuschauen, sind mitverantwortlich. Wir akzeptieren nicht, dass die Anwaltskammern, deren Hauptaufgabe darin besteht, den Schutz der Menschenrechte zu gewährleisten und zu überwachen, zu der Frage der kranken Gefangenen und der Tode in den Gefängnissen, die in den letzten Jahren immer wieder auf die Tagesordnung gekommen sind, schweigen.“

6.000 Frauen aus 54 Ländern appellieren

Abschließend heißt es: „Wir halten fest, dass Aysel Tuğluk so schnell wie möglich freigelassen werden muss, damit ihre Behandlung in einer Weise fortgesetzt werden kann, die der Menschenwürde entspricht. Als 6.000 Frauen aus 56 Ländern wiederholen wir unsere Forderung: Wir wollen Freiheit für Aysel Tuğluk und alle kranken Gefangenen!“

Aysel Tuğluk – ein Leben im Kampf für Demokratie und Menschenrechte

Aysel Tuğluk war vor ihrer politischen Laufbahn selbst Rechtsanwältin und hat unter anderem Abdullah Öcalan verteidigt. Bis zu ihrer Verhaftung Ende 2016 war sie stellvertretende Vorsitzende der Demokratischen Partei der Völker (HDP). In mehreren Verfahren wurde sie bereits verurteilt, andere Prozesse sind noch anhängig. Im Februar 2020 bestätigte der türkische Berufungsgerichtshof die bislang höchste Freiheitsstrafe gegen Tuğluk mit über zehn Jahre Haft. Verurteilt wurde sie aufgrund ihrer Funktion als Ko-Vorsitzende des „Demokratischen Gesellschaftskongresses” (KCD) wegen „Leitung einer Terrororganisation“. Im Oktober vergangenen Jahres verhängte ein Gericht in Wan eine zwanzigmonatige Freiheitsstrafe wegen angeblicher PKK-Propaganda in den Jahren 2012 und 2013. Im sogenannten Kobanê-Prozess in Ankara droht Aysel Tuğluk eine erschwerte lebenslange Freiheitsstrafe.[1]
