Namdar Qaradaghi

Namdar Qaradaghi
He was born in 1951 in Halabja. He completed his primary and secondary education in Sulaymaniyah.
In late 1969, he became a member of the Kurdish Arts and Literature Society, the Fine Arts Society in Sulaymaniyah. Shortly thereafter, he became a member of the board of directors of the association and the leader of the band. Most of the songs of the group were composed and distributed by him.
In 1977, he founded the Mawlawi Band and became its leader. From then until April 1982, he composed and distributed most of the band's songs and music.
In the same year, he opened a music course for children at Bekhud Primary School in Sulaymaniyah, where more than 40 children received lessons on most musical instruments in the first course. Shortly thereafter, he was able to form a children's band that performed successfully on many occasions.
The Bekhud Children's Band was able to record several songs and pieces of music and broadcast them on Kirkuk TV. He also won the first place in the festival of school activities of all Iraqi cities on behalf of Sulaymaniyah Schools Activity by performing the opera River.
One of the best things this band did was to secretly record a cassette of political and patriotic songs and anthems for Nasri Rezazi in 1979 in a room of Bekhud Primary School in Sulaymaniyah. These anthems were secretly sent to the revolutionary radios and spread throughout Kurdistan.
In 1982 he moved abroad and settled in the Netherlands. In the first week, with the help of his brother Salar Qarakhi, he formed a music, singing and dance group called Awara Art Group in Amsterdam. This band develops quickly and has many members.
In 1983, the band recorded a cassette of new hymns and songs, most of which were composed and distributed by him.
The Awara Band initially performs and participates in dozens of Dutch and European music festivals in the Netherlands and most European countries. It has presented several special programs on Dutch radio and television.
In the Netherlands, the artist began his higher music studies at a conservatory and graduated in 1991 after six years of study. Since then, he has worked as a music teacher in Dutch schools.
In 2001, he founded a Kurdish music school in the Netherlands called Namo Music School and formed a band from his students. This band has participated in many national and international events.
They have been able to successfully present programs on Kurdish television several times. This school is still ongoing and now includes about 30 students, children and adults, where they learn Kurdish and international music in a scientific artistic way.
The artist wrote several major classical works and symphonies performed by several Dutch orchestras, such as the Riggiotti Orchestra and the Vils Kracht Air Orchestra in the Netherlands.[1]
