جاء فی الفصل الثاني: التقسيمات السكانية من الناحية العرقية و اللغوية: ص. 86 -87.
أما الأكراد فقد تبين أنهم كانوا من العناصر السكانية التي جاءت من مختلف أنحاء بلاد الشام و أستقرت في المدينة وأشارت السجلات الى تواجدهم بمحلات داخل المدينة وخارجها وفي الأسواق ، و أستعملوا اللغة الكردية فيما بينهم بالإضافة إلى استخدامهم اللغة العربية ، و تكاثرت أعدادهم حتى شكلوا لهم محلة خاصة عرفت بمحلة الأكراد ، كما أستقر بعض من الأكراد في محلات ظاهر باب النصر و محلة الدلالين ومحلة الزواية ومختلف محلات المدينة الأخرى كمحلة صاحبلي خان الفوقاني والتحتاني ومحلة الحجاج وقد شكل الأكراد بمدينة حلب لواء عرف بلواء الأكراد وتولى أمرهم الأمير جان بلاط بك الكردي (ت 983ه‍ /1576)
والذي ذكر عنه أنه قام بسفك دماء عدد من الأكراد من اللصوص وقطاع الطرق حتى أكتسب ثقة الدولة كونه حافظ على الأمن والاستقرار و أعطته مقابل ذلك وظائف هامة ورفعت من منزلته . تعددت طوائف الأكراد في مدينة حلب، فمنها طائفة البلالية و طائفة الأردنية وطائفة السليمانية ،وعمل الأكراد بالمدينة بمختلف الأعمال كبيع وشراء الحيوانات في الأسواق ، وفي رعي الاغنام وغيرها .
