اسم کامل وی قادر احمد مصطفی در سال 1954 در روستای برکوت به دنیا آمد، او از کودکی به آهنگ و موسیقی کردی علاقه داشتە است و از دوران دبستان این استعداد را داشته و با تقلید توانسته آن را شکوفا کند، این تقلید صدا بیشتر از هنر و صدای هنرمند بزرگوار #حسن زیرک# بود.
قادر زیرک از کودکی به آواز و صدای حسن زیرک علاقه داشت، لقب زیرک هم شهرت هنری او است. قادر زیرک تحصیلات دبستان را در برکوت تمام کردە است. سپس به شهر می آید و مراحل تحصیل خود را در شهر به پایان می رساند. به دلیل شرایط سخت زندگی نتوانست تحصیلات خود را به پایان برساند و تا سوم راهنمایی تحصیل کرد.=KTML_ImageCaption_Begin==KTML_StyleDiv=width:25%;height:20%;float:right;=KTML_ImageCaption_Target_Link=https://www.kurdipedia.org/files/relatedfiles/2023/507785/0001.JPG=KTML_ImageCaption_Title=قادر زیرک و پسرش=KTML_ImageCaption_CaptionStyle=000000=KTML_ImageCaption_Caption=قادر زیرک و پسرش=KTML_ImageCaption_End=
قادر زیرک در سال 1969 با نسرین احمد ازدواج کرد و خانه ای پر از عشق و هنر ساخت. آنها دو فرزند به نام های ایوب و ژیان دارند.
اما مرگ مانع از ادامه زندگی قادر و نسرین می شود و پس از چهار سال زندگی مشترک، نسرین و دخترشان ژیان در سال 1973 بر اثر یک حادثه سوختگی درگذشتند. او پس از سه سال تنهایی، غم و اشک، و در تلاش تا زندگی جدیدی را آغاز کند. در سال 1976 با خاتون اواز عبدالعزیز ازدواج کرد و سە فرزند بە نام های امید، اوات، اردلان دارند.
قادر زیرک اولین آهنگ خود را در سال 1977 در رادیو کردی بغداد ضبط کرد بە نام (دور هستم از یارم) این آهنگ پژواک خوبی از هنرمند در آن زمان بود و برای آرشیو به تاریخ پیوست، این آهنگ جاودانه مانده است و یکی از آهنگ های اصلی است که آهنگسازی و شعر رزگار خوشناو است. در سال 1980 چندین آلبوم دیگر از جمله دکمه سینه، امان ساقی، لبانوار و بازی کوهستان را ضبط کرد، در آن دو سال قادر زیرک شناخته شد و مردم کارشان را پذیرفتند زیرا که کارهایش بوی اصالت و پاکی می داد. در تاریخ 17-18-07-1981 قادر زیرک و چند تن از دوستانشان هنگام بازگشت از سفر از بخال و گلی علی بیگ به اربیل بر اثر واژگونی خودروی آنها در جاده خلیفان - حریر کشته شدند.[1]
