- He was born in 1913 in the village of Hasan Jano, which belongs to the city of Kars.

In 1918 he immigrated with his family to Tbilisi.

In 1931 he was sent on a scholarship to Leningrad to study mechanical engineering.
In 1935 he completed his studies in mechanical engineering
In 1935 he returned to Yerevan and worked as a teacher of physics and mathematics
In 1940 he was sent to Moscow to study at the Communist Party Institute of the Central Committee of the Soviet Communist Party
- In 1954, he obtained a doctorate from Moscow University, and his thesis was on the Kurdish countryside.
From 1961 to 1971, he worked as a teacher at the Institute of Orientalism in Armenia.
