Faruq Mustafa Rasul, also known as Farooq Mullah Mustafa, was born in 1941 in Sulaymaniyah. He is the son of Kurdish religious figure, reformer and poet Mullah Mustafa Safuat.
Faruq Mullah Mustafa is a Kurdish intellectual and businessman. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Faruq Holding and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Asiacell. He was a former leader and member of the Political Bureau of the Iraqi Communist Party – Central Leadership and participated in the September Revolution against oppression and dictatorship. Throughout his life, he has struggled for social justice, equality and the construction of important economic projects in Kurdistan.[1]
