He was born on #01-07-1927#, He stopped going to school after he finished the 5th grade of primary school. Since his childhood he worked as a greengrocer, he worked with Darwish Baqal and then with Rasha Janjar until 1974. Because of his job he spent most of his time in Sharazoor, #Baghdad# and #Tehran#.
Although he had left school since an early he still had a very nice handwriting. He knew Arabic and Persian well, he knew Indian as well because in Habania he was a soldier with the British Indian soldiers.
He was the alderman of Goizha street until 1975. He passed away on #19-08-2008# .
He had a very nice voice full of emotion and sadness, we could easily feel his voice leaving his larynx passing through our souls. He has left behind only a record of his songs, and this song had been recoreded in 1956, because of that song he was imprisoned for a while by regime that was on power in that time, it seems he had other songs but they were destroyed.
Bangina who is a Kurdish poet has a poem that he wrote for the death of Sheikh Mahmood Hafid and Baqir Hussain turned this poem into a very nice song in (maqam) style, he had added two lines of his own to the original poem.[1]
