He was born in 1927 in Kawanian village of Shaqlawa, the only child of his parents, His father was a mullah from Haji Omeran in Balakaity and his mother was a Kawani.
Mam Taha played a major role in the development of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in Shaqlawa and was an active member of the party and participated in all activities of the struggle, Fatma, daughter of Mam Taha, was the first girl to read a speech on behalf of the Women's Union at that time.
When the Kurdistan Teachers' Congress was held twice in Shaqlawa, Mam Taha was one of the participants.
Before the Aylul Revolution in 1958, he was arrested in Baghdad during the reign of Abdul Karim Qasim and sentenced to death in Abu Ghraib Mahmoud, Sabir Kavani, Mahmoud Kavani, Mastila Bandyan, Hamid Kavani and many of his friends were released.
In the late 1950s, Mam Taha was one of the initiators of the Aylul Revolution along with other Kawanis such as Mahmoud Kawani, Jalal Kawani, Hamid Kawani, Jamil Kawani and Jawhar Kawani. In 1961, at the start of revolution, He became a Kurdistan Peshmerga. His family was exiled to #Erbil# and his father, who was seventy years old, was arrested for a year. In 1963, known as the year of the national guards, his family and children were expelled from Erbil and moved to Betwate, Hartal and Andek. At the same time, Mam Taha participated in many battles in the region and played a prominent and heroic role. His children were excluded from school for two years, then in 1965 they returned to Erbil.
In 1966-1967, when he returned to Erbil, he was arrested in Tayra and imprisoned in Mosul for three years. When he was released in 1969, he was not allowed to return to Erbil and was forced to move to Baghdad. After a while, he returned to Erbil. He continued his struggle until 1975, when he fled to Iran, then returned to Iraq and stayed in Erbil for a year. When the new revolution of our people broke out, he went to the mountains of Kurdistan with martyrs Saadi Gchka and Qadir Aziz and became a Peshmerga.
After many years of struggle and sacrifice, on #19-04-1977#, he was wounded in a battle with a traitor’s special unit near the village of Sanaway Jali in Koya. He was released, after a year of torture in security prisons, however, he was unable to continue his armed struggle due to heart disease he secretly helped the revolution in the armed struggle, but unfortunately, he passed away on #16-04-2008# after a long struggle with illness.[1]
