He was born in 1954 in Tehran. He holds a bachelor's degree in theater arts and a doctorate in photography. In 1984, he became the chief of photographic reporters of the Islamic Republic of Iran News Agency (IRNA). He founded the Farda Photographers Council for young people and was its director for 12 years. He was the supervisor of the International Festival of Children and Youth Photographers for several years. This festival lasted for five years. Natiqi is known as one of the most famous war photographers in Iran. He has been a photographer for IRNA throughout his career. Therefore, he was able to participate in many battles such as Shlmcha, Halabja and Faw and broadcast the news in pictures.
He is currently retired and working as an independent photographer. He lives in Tehran and has a daughter and a son.
Ahmad Natigi was a photojournalist who covered the chemical attack on Halabja.[1]
