Gholam Reza Rashid Yasmi is a Kurdish poet, writer and translator from Kermanshah. Gholam Reza Rashid Yasmi was born on 20-11-1896 in Gawara, Dalahou, Kermanshah. The people of Gawara belong to the Goran tribe and the Yarsan religion, which is one of the oldest religions in Kurdistan. Their holy books are in Kurdish. His father, Mohammad Walikhani Gorani, was a painter and calligrapher. Yasmi completed his primary education in Kermanshah and secondary education in St. Louis School in Tehran. When he graduated, he founded the Forum of Knowledge, which later became the University Council with Mohammed Taqi Bahar. Along with writing and researching, he learned Arabic, English and French, as well as Pahlavi with the famous German historian Herzfeld (1879-1948). In 1933, he became a lecturer at the college of Literature of Tehran University and later became a member of the Iranian Information Society. In 1943 he traveled to India and in 1945 he went to France where he stayed for two years. Yasmi remained a professor at Tehran University until the end of his life.
He has written a number of articles in the fields of literature, history, philosophy and criticism that have been published in broadcasts such as Nobahar, Armaghan, Ainda, Ta'lim and Tarbit, Yaghma, Mehr and other magazines.
His maternal grandfather's book of poems, Mohammad Baqir Mirza Khosravi Kermashani, was prepared and published on the basis of Yasemi's efforts. For three years, in 1943-1945 he published a magazine called Nama y Farhangestan.
Gholam Reza Rashid Yasmi suffered a stroke while giving a lecture at Tehran University on March 2, 1949, but was treated and died three years later on May 9, 1951 in Tehran. [1]
