Burhan Haji Mohammed Abdulrahman his nickname was Jahid, he was a well known poet in Kurdistan and with his poems and writings he has helped in the development of Kurdish poem and literature.
Jahid in 1918 was born from the Doghramachi Family of the Jaf tribe, in the Sara district near #Erbil# citadel.
Doghramachi family is a well known family in Erbil , many intellectuals, politicians and other prominent figures are from this family, they have had helped in the development of the city of Erbil.
Doghramachi means carpenter and the one who produces arts and figures on wood.
Because he was from an intellectual family that loved literature, he soon developed love towards the world of literature and poetry, he started writing poems from the age of 14, he was under the influence of poets like Jabbar Agha Kani Mami, Namiq Kemal and Hijri.
He wrote his poems in Kurdish, Arabic and Turkmen language, he has published three anthologies of quatrains in Kurdish under the name Jahid’s Quatrains. He had worked in the Ankawa public library as librarian. Unfortunately this great poet on #22-01-1991# he passed away but his great poems and writings will forever live in our memories.[1]
