In his own words:
1964 The Kurdish Democratic Party in Syria, led by Osman Sabri, was the only party in West Kurdistan. I was in charge of the organization of the Damascus and Beirut regions. 1969 Osman Sabri and I left the party and in 1967 the Arab belt began. In 1968, I attended a conference in Amuda city. At the conference, Osman Sabri said Syria should not take wheat from the Arab belt. Salah Badruddin stood up against Osman Sabri and supported the Syrian policy. He was Barzani's enemy then and now a friend of Masoud Barzani. I don't know what that was. In 1961, I became involved in politics. From 1961 to 1964, we formed the Kurdish Association for Independence and Freedom in Damascus, and I was its president. In 1964, I agreed with Osman Sabri to dissolve Komala within the Kurdish Democratic Party in Syria.
1969 and 1970 After seeing Jamal Nabaz, I became a Kazhik (Kurdish Freedom Association and Kurdish Union)
In 1975, in the year of collapse, it suspended its operations. I was a member of the Kazhik leadership and the first in charge in West Kurdistan.
In 1976 A number of Kazhik cadres founded PASOK. I was a member of the Political Bureau of the Kurdish Socialist Party until 1984.
I came to Europe and became convinced that no party could liberate the Kurds and Kurdistan alone. The Kurdistan National Congress was established in 1985, but held its first congress in Mr. Aziz Aqrawi was elected as the President of the Congress. The second congress was held in 1991 and I was elected as the president of the Kurdistan National Congress. Third Congress 1996, Fourth Congress 1998, Fifth Congress 2005 and Sixth Congress.[1]
