Sergius Serekani (also known as Sergius) was a physician, writer, and translator. He was one of the most famous Byzantine physicians. He lived in Sarekan, West Kurdistan, around 500 before arrival of Islam. He learned Greek in Alexandria, where he worked as a translator and translated dozens of medical books from Greek into Syriac. He died in 536 AD.[1]
