Awaz Mahmoud was born in 1963 in Erbil, Kurdistan. He is a primary school teacher. In 1980, he participated in the play Habu Nabu directed by Sabah Abdulrahman. This was his first and last work that led him away from art, which he says was because of all the comments of the people and his city about her in a way that bothered her. Now a mother of six, she was the first female theater actress in Kurdistan to hold the hand of her fellow theater artist Rajab (Saadoun Younis) in front of the camera. She believes that most of the talk was about how a woman should hold a stranger man's hand. When the director asked her to hold Rajab's hand, she found it difficult.[1]
