He was born in 1923 in the city of Sina, East Kurdistan and worked for many years as an announcer, literary researcher, poet, translator and writer in Kermanshah, Sanaa and Tehran radio stations.

Part of the life and activities of Shukrullah Baban:
After graduating from secondary school in Sina, Baban went to Tehran and received a bachelor's degree in theology, psychology and law from Tehran University.
Baban began his career in 1958 on Radio Tehran, where he broadcast a 15-minute program in Kurdish every day. The duration of the program was extended to one hour and presented in both Sorani and Kurmanji. During the work of Kurdish Radio Tehran, Baban was active as the head and announcer of the Kurdish section. After several months, Kurdish Radio Kermanshah was opened, which broadcast its programs in both Sorani and Kalhori languages. With the opening of this radio, Kurdish Radio Tehran was closed and all employees were transferred to Kermanshah. Baban worked as an announcer and translator in Kurdish Radio Kermanshah until 1969.
From 1959 to 1963, Shukrullah Baban published the Kurdistan newspaper in Kurdish in Tehran with the help of famous Kurdish teachers Badi' al-Zamani, Abdulrahman Sarajedini, Sadiq Mufti Zadeh and Sheikh Abid. Reading Kurdish poetry on Radio Kermanshah gained great popularity for Shukrullah Baban and was eagerly listened to in all homes in Kurdistan.
During his career, Baban worked as the head of radio stations in Sina, Kermanshah and Urmia. He also wrote three books: Salahaddin Ayyubi, Kurdish Hero, Gulzari Kurdistan and Persian-Kurdish Linguistic Dictionary.
He died on 16-11-2012 in Tehran at the age of 89.[1]
