In his own words:
My name is Amir and my surname is Qazi. I am from the Qazi family of the #Mahabad# city eastern Kurdistan, I was born in the year 1938 in a village with the name Hajiawa in the areas around Mahabad. I think the year that I went to school in was 1946. My school life was in the cities of Bokan, Mahabad, Tabriz and Tehran.
In Tehran I studied in the college of law in the Tehran university and at the time while I was abroad I also studied in the department of languages at the University of Stockholm and the university of Uppsala.
I started my political struggle from a very young age, it was when I was in the third and fourth grades of primary school. I joined the Youth Union of the Democratic Party of Kurdistan in Iran and continued my struggle with the Democratic party of Kurdistan in Iran until the year 1984. In in the year 1984, I left Democratic Party of Kurdistan in Iran and together with some of my other like-minded comrades and friends, in the same year we formed our own political organization called it the United Kurdistan Democratic Front(بەرەی دیموکراتی کوردستانی یەکگرتوو,( and that organization after many years of struggle and political activity we renamed it in the first congress of the organization in the year 1990 to پارتی سەربەخۆیی کوردستان) ( Kurdistan Freedom Party. I have been working with the Kurdistan Freedom Party ever since.[1]
