$Biography$
Azad Shawqi, he was born in 1929 in the city of #Erbil# in Kurdistan. He was from a well known family of #Sulaymaniyah#, He completed his primary education in Diwaniya city in southern Iraq and he finished secondary school and high school in the city of #Kirkuk# and finally he finished the Institute of Fine Arts in the city of #Baghdad#, he worked as an educational supervisor in the city of Sulayamniyah.
He began his artistic career at the Baghdad Institute of Fine Arts. he has opened dozens of exhibitions in his artistic career, all of which depict the beauty of Kurdistan and Kurdish society.
Azad Shawqi unfortunately he suffered from lymph node disease (Lymphadenopathy) in May 2000. Although he underwent surgery and treatment, but with pain and a heart full of hope for humanity due to his illness he passed away in the midst of August 2002.

- In 1993 Kurdistan Regional Parliament Honorary Exhibition of his works.
- In 1993 Joint art exhibition in Paris, France.
- In 1997 Kurdistan Parliament Honorary Exhibition.
