He was born in 1925 in Erbil. He began his religious studies with his father Mullah Osman and later continued his studies with the famous mullah of Erbil. He completed his studies under the known scholar Mullah Salih Kozapanka, until he became a mullah himself, although he did not receive a lisence.
Mullah Sharif was an intelligent and talented person. He did not rely on religious and jurisprudence knowledge. He learned several foreign languages such as Arabic, Turkish, French and Persian through private teachers, in addition to his native language of Kurdish.
Mullah Sharif joined the class struggle in 1942 when he was 17 years old. He was arrested in 1949 and sentenced to several years in prison. In the mid-1950s, he started a family and lived a poor life. He worked as an employee of the printing house of the Erbil Municipality.
He died of a heart attack in Erbil on #28-04-1976#.
He was also a great writer and translator and published two books in Arabic during his lifetime:

In addition to these two published works, he left behind five valuable works (poetry, translated stories and grammar) in manuscript:
1. Chinese Romeo and Juliet - Translated from Chinese into French and he translated it from French into Kurdish
2. A book of national and political poetry in Kurdish
3. He has translated several plays from French into Kurdish
