He was born in 1923 in #Ranya# and later his family moved to Koya where he completed his primary and secondary education. He then went to Baghdad and studied at the agricultural school in Abu Ghraib. He finished agricultural school with a high grade and became an agricultural clerk and served in many Kurdish cities. He graduated from college in Cyprus during 1957-1958 and when he returned he was appointed as the director of the #Erbil# Governor's Forestry Directorate and served the Kurdish forests well, he was known as a well-spoken and loved man that loved to live among people.
After the establishment of the Hiwa Party led by Rafiq Hilmi during the years 1939 to 1941, he became an active member of the Kurdish national party and through loyalty to Kurds and Kurdistan began to collect and record poems and folklore stories in Ranya and #Qaladze# among them were the verses of Ali Bardashani during the times of #Mahabad# republic a record of these national verses and folk poems was sent to Mahabad by his beloved friend Mohammad Tofiq Wardi and published in the Kurdistan newspapers. Some of them were published in a book after Wardi's return after the collapse of the Kurdistan Republic, and in the book it’s mentioned that they were collected by Ahmed Ako.
Ahmad Bakr known as (Ahmed Ako), a known Kurdish folklorist, passed away on #18-01-1988# in Erbil, leaving behind several manuscripts of Kurdish folklore and stories from Ranya and Qaladze, he left behind a library full of Kurdish literary and historical texts.
