He was a famous Kurdish man, who was also known as Sayyid Tahai Nahr) he is one of the most famous religious men in all of Kurdistan. He received his sect from Maulana Khalid Naqshbandi and spread it in his own area.
Sayyid Tahai Nahri initially lived in the areas under the rule of the Emir of Botan and was highly respected as a high-ranking religious personality, and he was a loyal collaborator and advisor to the Badrkhani family.
After the collapse of the rule of the Badirkhan family, Sayyid Taha moved the Naqshbandi monastery to the village of Nahri in the Shamzinan region under the rule of the Emir of Hakkari and since then he has become known as Sayyid Taha Nahri.
According to some sources they say that during the leadership of Sayyid Taha and due to his efforts, the Naqshbandi Tariqat had more than 10,000 followers in Badinan and people from all over the country flocked to Sayyid Taha's monastery.
This great religious and social position led the Qajar kings of Iran to pay special respect to Sayyid Taha and establish friendly relations with him.
Sayyid Taha, whose ancestry goes back to Sheikh Abdul Qadir Geylani, was a patriotic personality who helped all liberation movements and even tried to help the Dagestan people's movement led by Sheikh Shamil.
This great Kurdish man passed away in 1853 and after his death for several years, his brother Sheikh Mohammed Salih took over the leadership of the Naqshbandi movement in the region and then the religious task was entrusted to Sheikh Obaidullah son of Sayyid Taha.[1]
