His full name is Abdullah Abdulrahman Abdullah known as (Ashti Hawrami).
Year and place of birth: he was born in the year 1948 in the city S#ulaymaniyah#.
Education: he has got a Bachelor degree in Petroleum Engineering in the year 1971 from the #Baghdad# University.
From the year 1971 to 1974, he had worked as an engineer at the Iraqi National Oil Company in the city of Basra.
In the year 1978, he received his PhD degree in Petroleum Reserves Engineering in Scotland.
From the year 1975 until the year 1982 he worked as an engineer for the British National Oil Company and the North Sea company in Scotland.
From the year 1982 until the year 1985 he was a senior petroleum engineer with the major company inerta in London.
From the year 1985 until the year 1988 he was Chief Engineer at Exploration Consultants in the United Kingdom.
From the year 1988 until the year 1999, he was the owner and manager of Duke Engineering & Services Limited in the United Kingdom.
From the year 1999 until the year 2006, he was Chairman of ECL- Exploration Consultants Group Plc, UK.
Since the year 2006, he has been the Minister of Natural Resources in the fifth cabinet of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
Hawrami is credited by industry executives and KRG officials as the driving force behind the independent Kurdish oil sector. However, he has also been criticized by opposition parties in the Kurdistan Region for the lack of transparency and accountability in the oil and gas sector. Several important public companies that the KRG had to establish as part of 2007 Oil and Gas Law were postponed. Moreover, there were several international disputes between various companies and the KRG, with the minister of natural resources absorbing the bulk of the criticism.

In his defense, Hawrami has said his job has been to make the oil and gas sector work in Kurdistan and bring in revenue for the KRG, but he should not be held responsible for what the KRG did with the oil revenues.
He is married.
In the sixth cabinet, he became the minister of natural resources.[1]
