In the introduction to his anthology of poems, Mullah Masoud Bebash briefly described his life as follows: I was born in the year 1932 in the city of Erbil, and I am the son of Haji Abdullah Shanaghai. My father and grandfather are from the Shwan tribe. My father came to Erbil long ago and completed his religious studies with Mullah Abubakr Effendi (Mullah Gchka). After staying with the great mullah of Koya for a long time. In 1966, he was appointed a mullah in the beloved city of Erbil and was appointed as a preacher and the Imam in the Great Bazaar Mosque. He passed away on #25-05-1998# in Erbil. In 1956, I translated the Tajweed of the Qur'an into the sweet Kurdish language for the first time. In 1971, I published part of my anthology and in 1984, I published some of the five lines of Poetry.
The poet says:
If a pious man needs a help of a coward and if he doesn't help him it is piousness.
If a pious man needs a help of a pious and if he doesn't help him it is cowardice.
He says in a love poem:
I know I'm not saved from your love
It's impossible as long as I live
I sacrifice for your eyelashes
My heart is tied to you until I become ashes
In the national poem, he says:
If you are Kurdish, why do you refute your Kurdishness
If you are Kurdish why do you say I am not Kurdish and take foolishness?
