Call to save afrin
For:
Mr... Antonio Guterich, Secretary-General of the United Nations.
- sent from the United Nations to Syria, Mr. Stéphane De Mistura.
- United Nations High Commissioner for human rights, Mr. Zeid Raad Al-Hussein.
- the international independent investigation commission on the Syrian Arab Republic and the United Nations Human Rights Council.
- Ministers for Foreign Affairs (United States of America, European Union, people's Republic of China, United Kingdom, Arab Republic of Egypt, Arab League).
- Syrian, regional and international organizations concerned with human rights.
- world public opinion and all defenders of the values of justice, freedom and equality.
The Turkish armed forces with Syria's armed factions, including Islamist and radicalistes factions, have launched an unwarranted military attack and contrary to international law, invading the International Border (Syrian-Turkish) and storming the territory of a Neighbouring countries, without the permission of the Syrian government to occupy afrin, historically inhabited by a Kurdish population, under the pretext of protecting Turkish National Security. note that the government of Ankara fails to show an act of aggression in the Turkish security zones; the turkish offensive is intended to strike the historic existence of the Kurds and their constructive role on the one hand and to achieve turkey's expansionist ambitions on Syrian territory.
The Turkish Army, as well as the dependent syrian factions, have been committed since 20/01/2018 to 18/03/2018, the date of occupation of Afrin, war crimes and crimes against humanity.
- they have killed and wounded thousands of civilians, including dozens of children, women and the elderly, and the abduction of some of them, in addition to total or partial destruction in the homes of the population, and Public Institutions, mosques, schools, drinking water facilities and the development of livestock, environment and forests, vandalisation famous archaeological sites like the site of ain dara and Brad, which includes the sanctuary of Saint-Maron.
- the indiscriminate bombing of air and land that displaced at least 200000 Kurdish citizens from afrin; they suffered suffering in rural Aleppo; the humanitarian situation is tragic, given the loss of most of the Needs of life, food, clothing, housing, infant needs and lack of medicines; many children and elderly people have lost their lives because of the hardness and loss of living conditions; Tens of thousands of people who wish to return home are unable to return home because the crossing points are closed. The Syrian government does not allow them to go to Aleppo. Cases of serious infectious diseases, such as pulmonary tuberculosis, have been documented due to lack of medical care and overcrowding.
- looting and theft are planned and expanded on the content of people's homes, shops, shops and warehouses; this is documented in numerous media reports. Contrary to the claims of the occupying forces, we affirm that the processus invasion process has been planned, organized and monitored by thousands of Syrian opposition fighters, which are aimed at the impoverishment of the local population and humiliate them. Case of extortion, threats or kidnapping in order to obtain money.
- and forced settlement operations in afrin and its villages are continuing; thousands of families are housed in the homes of residents of afrin who are not entitled to return to their homes. Most of these families were brought from al-Ghouta, Al-Admir and others, as well as des and idlib camps.
- the intentional targeting of the region's National Specificity, including attacks against symbols and landmarks of the cultural specificity of the Kurdish people and their destruction and elimination remain active; on the day of the onslaught of the city of Afrin, they Destroyed the bust of legendary hero, Kawa mourning, which refers to the feast of nowruz for the Kurds and other peoples, and who is a symbol of fighting against injustice and tyranny; erasing the Kurdish words Facades of headquarters and institutions and replace them in Turkish-Arabic terms.
- arbitrary arrests and cases of torture and kidnapping of journalists and activists and their conduct to unknown destinations, such as the Dean of the faculty of Kurdish literature at l' university, Dr. Abdul Majid Sheikho (67).) whose fate remains unknown; the kidnapping of the photographer Mrs dhan kara gul whose fate is also unknown; many young people have a precarious life simply because of the suspicion of being rejected by the Turkish invasion forces; the absence of Public and individual freedoms, and the prohibition of the practice of any civil, cultural or media activity, but which serves the occupation of propaganda and its policy.
- the dissemination of the culture of racism and religious hatred and religious extremism in society, and the launch of descriptions of extreme and derogatory épithètes to the population of the region, such as pigs and atheists and infidels, To justify the abuse and looting of their property. There are clear reprisals for the open social character of residents and their homogeneous social fabric. Kurds are at greater risk because of their ideological and religious specificities, where they are forced to abandon their beliefs, embrace Islam by force and ridicule their holiness and their beliefs openly.
- there is almost total paralysis in the economic, industrial and agricultural fields where work is abandoned; the closure and closure of soap laboratories, clothing workshops, repair shops, after being looted; Agricultural and implementation services are at the lowest level; most tractors have been stolen; agricultural equipment, Olive Groves and forests are damaged due to Turkish bombardment; in addition, the loss of great animal wealth, The threat of extreme poverty in society; the unemployment rate is high.
- the low level of general services, public health and the situation in afrin cause suffering and misery; lack of medical personnel and the closure of private hospitals which have been passed on to the licence again in turkey; the paralysis of many Specialized clinics and hospitals; the absence of sufficient quantities of medicines and the loss of some; small quantities and types of food, where there is fear of the spread of diseases due to the accumulation of waste and debris; the uncertain availability of certain clinics Medical and ambulances, patients at Turkish hospitals.
- the closure of schools, colleges, University and the institute of music, painting and languages since the beginning of the invasion invasion; the loss of student chances for studies and development Of their talents; children have suffered doubly; horror and loss of health care.
Ladies and gentlemen:
According to documented facts and data on the ground, which show that the lives of the inhabitants of the area under Turkish occupation are in danger, as well as the lives of displaced persons in the and tel areas, the towns of nubul and Al-Zahra, Mountain Villages Simon, Rubarea-Shirawa North of Aleppo. If we compare the conditions of the region region and its inhabitants today with those of previous aggression and occupation, where security and stability in the middle of violence and destruction in northern Syria and Aleppo, So that the region was a refuge for nearly half a million people; a Syrian fugitive from the violence in the rural areas of Aleppo and idlib, we are aware of the size of the major crime committed by the Turkish State and The Syrian factions against the inhabitants of; it remained in afrin which is a great prison; they looted the property of the people who fled because of fear for their lives; it suffers the worst living conditions And humanitarian in the open air or in basic camps lacking basic health conditions, where the Syrian government or humanitarian organizations did not provide significant assistance.
The Turkish Army and the administrative presence in the area have all the attributes and qualities of the occupying power in accordance with international and related law; the fact that the Turkish government has pushed its army to invade the territory of a neighbouring country in an otherwise Under International law and without the permission of the Syrian government, and submitted the Syrian area of afrin controlled by foreign military forces hoisting the Turkish flag on headquarters, institutions and public places, and the Turkish Army's work to build Military points and headquarters at the Syrian border and at the bottom of the region.
We, the party of the Kurdish Democratic Union in Syria (Yekiti), make use of your conscience to do your duty to afrin and their oppressed and threatened inhabitants; we appeal to the United Nations and institutions from the body to send Special Committees in the region to investigate violations and crimes and to preview the effects of the occupation, as well as the suffering of displaced persons and displaced persons. We urge you to put pressure on the Turkish Government, work to end all violations and remove mines and remnants of battle and recover the broken bodies and compensate those affected and provide the necessities of life and full Respect for the rights and responsibilities of the occupying power until the evacuation of the Turkish Army and accompanied by militias from the occupied Syrian territory and the return of afrin to its people and Syrian sovereignty.
