Jan Dost

Jan Dost
Jan Dost (* 12. März 1965 in Ain al-Arab, Syrien) ist ein freier syrisch-deutscher Journalist und kurdischer Schriftsteller. Nach dem Abitur studierte er von 1985 bis 1988 Biologie an der Universität von Aleppo, schloss aber sein Studium nicht ab. Jan Dost schreibt auf Kurdisch und Arabisch. Seine Werke werden im Libanon, Syrien, Irak, der Türkei und in Deutschland publiziert. In Deutschland wurde der Autor 1991 durch seine Heldendichtung Kela Dimdimê („Die Zitadelle von Dimdim“) erstmals bekannt. Seit Juni 2000 lebt Jan Dost als politischer Flüchtling in Deutschland. Im Jahr 2008 wurde Jan Dost eingebürgert. [1]
