Qasımlo’nun 1960 tarihli kitabını günümüz okuyucusu için önemli bir kaynak haline getiren öğelerden biri, Kürd milliyetçiliğinin ideolojik ve sembolik devamlılıklarını ve kırılmalarını sezinlemeyi mümkün kılmasıdır. Dil, coğrafya, tarih söylemi, milli efsaneler gibi ana temalarda bariz bir şekilde görülen bu devamlılık, Kürd hareketinin onyıllar önce sembolik bir anlamlar birliği kazandığını anlamamızı sağlamaktadır. Özellikle Kürdleri bir “harita”dan ve “kadim zamanlar tarihi”nden yola çıkarak cisimleştirme, Kürd tarihyazımının “Marksizme ters düşmeyen”, ama Marksizm dışı” akımlarla ortak referansları oluşturmasını da mümkün kılan belirleyici öğelerindendir. Qasımlo’nun çalışmasının, hem Kürdler üzerine bir çalışma, hem Kürd araştırmacılığının şeceresinde bir mihenk taşı, hem de bir dönemin tanığı ve tanıklığı olarak görülmesi gerekmektedir.
