He was born on #23-09-1932# in Turjan village of #Saqiz# city in Eastern Kurdistan. At a young age, he became interested in singing by listening to the songs of Kurdish artist Hassan Zirak, which were broadcast on Kurdish radios in #Tehran# and #Kermanshah#.
In 1966, he was first appearance was on Radio Sanadangi and recorded several songs that were broadcast live on radio Sna.
In the spring of 1971, with the help of the late Tofiq Azizi, also known as Tofiq Tarzan, he recorded his most important songs, including Toz Deka, Toz Deka, Maryame Chendajwani and Bar Qala Maro, on Radio #Mahabad#.
After these songs were broadcast on Radio Mahabad, Ibrahim Fatahi became known throughout Kurdistan. The song Toz Deka Toz Deka played a significant role in his popularity. These songs have been broadcast several times on Kurdish Radio in Baghdad, Mahabad, Kermanshah and Qasr Shirin.
In the same year, he recorded several other songs on Radio Mahabad with the help of musician Rashid Faiznejad and the Mahabad Band.
In 1977, he recorded several songs with the help of #Bokan#i artists, including the talented flute player and great Kurdish artist Qadir Abdullazadeh, also known as Qalamara, in the Kurdish Radio of Kermanshah, which was then headed by Mazhar Khalqi. In the same year, he presented the same program on Radio Sanaa.
In addition to recording songs on the radio, he has also recorded many songs with artists such as Hassan Zirak, Naser Rezazi, Abedarzhe, Ali Khandan, Sayed Ibrahim Saqzi and Ibrahim Qaderi” and many others.
In 1993, he performed the songs Chnuri u Chnuri and Cinemar Mar with Media Hussein in #Sulaymaniyah#.
In early 2005, Ibrahim Fatahi was invited by Kurdsat to present a joint program with singer Ibrahim Qaderi. This was his last television program.
Ibrahim Fatahi has presented a number of important works to the art of Kurdish music. Most of his songs have been repeated by other artists, which shows the influence of Ibrahim Fatahi on other artists. After many years of performing his songs, these works are still in the minds of the Kurdish people and will not be forgotten. His songs “Toz Deka Toz Deka” and “Maryame Chendajwani” are still new after listening to them hundreds of times.
Kurdish singer Ibrahim Fatahi passed away in Bokan on Thursday morning of #14-01-2006#.
Kurdish national artist Ibrahim Fatahi passed away at the age of 74 in his home in Sarw Street in Sahili neighborhood of Bokan city.[1]
