Abdulkhaliq Qutib was born in 1905 in Koya. He was close to the poet Dildar. He started his education learning from a mullah, and later joined elementary school in Koya. He finished teachers institution and became a teacher.
He was first employed as a teacher in 1925 in Basra, South of Iraq. When he returned to Koya, he was welcomed by the Great Mullah of Koya (مەلای گەورەی کۆیە), Jamil Agha Hawezi, the then governor of Koya, and Abdulrahman Sharaf, the school director, along with a crowd of people. He was a respected and loved personality in Koya, so he was welcomed in a way which he deserved. He returned as a teacher and settled in his hometown.
In 1930-1932 he was the director of Oula school. He was active in Koya. He organised a play called Kurdistan Girl (کچانی کوردستان). He has tought many known figures such as Ali Abdullah, Najiba Khani, daughter of the Great Mullah of Koya, Younis Rauf Dildar, Omar Jalal, Majid Sheikh Nuri and many other celebrities.
He was later transferred to work as the director of the tobacco factory in Kirkuk and Basra. He lived in Sulaymaniyah from 1947-1957. He was acquainted with the famous personalities of Sulaymaniyah. He had strong relationships with Kakeziad Agha Ghafouri, Arif Rashid Saqa, Massoud Mohammed, Abdul Razzaq Bimar, Samad Bana, and Mohammed Bakr. He was very impressed by the voice of the late Tayer Tofiq.
In 2001, Mohammed Darias visited him in Baghdad and was happy to meet him. Mohammed Darias published his interview and wrote: Abdulkhaliq Qutib said: (I will never forget Koya, the city of loyalty, knowledge, and celebrities, Koya is my city I am a child of Koya. I grew up in Koya and now I live with the air that comes from Koya)
Abdulkhaliq Qutib was the son-in-law of the famous teacher Rafiq Khadim Sajada.
He had three sons and three daughters.
He died on 12-06-2002 at the age of 97 in Baghdad.[2]
