He was born in 1961 in Faqe Janasar village of Darbandikhan city. He later moved to Darbandikhan city where he completed his primary and secondary education.
He graduated from the Teachers' Institute in Sulaymaniyah, where he worked as a teacher for several years. He was dismissed from teaching until the 1991 uprising in Kurdistan. After the uprising, he fled to Iran.
Sheikh Ahmad Barzinji is from the Barzinji tribe. He is a Kurdish singer and songwriter from Darbandikhan. He has been singing and reviving Kurdish songs and musical instruments.
He participated for the first time in school activities for the academic year 1975-1976 when he was in 7th grade.
His first recorded work was in 1978-1979 during the introduction ceremony, which was called Ay Shil with the participation of several artists of the Teachers Institute under the supervision of Ali Hama Reza, who helped him record several songs with the band and always motivated him to sing and become an artist. He has taught music to dozens of people during this time.
In 1979-1980 he participated in several songs that were published in Sulaymaniyah. Like most Kurdish artists, the political and social situations did not allow him to continue his art until 1996 in Europe when he released a new work called Soz. He recorded this piece with help from other artists like Khalid Rashid and Ali Shakuri.
His famous album Zaylay Teman was recorded in Germany in 2002 with the help of Arif Ibrahimpour and Ahmad Anoush. Zaylay Teman was released in 2003 by Stran Music.[1]
