This great Kurdish poet is Ahmad son of Sheikh Mohammad Mukriani, he is originally from an area near #Duhok# but he was born in a village in the #Shno# region in the year 1771 which corresponds to the 1226 of the solar year. He is known as a good connection between the northern Krmanji and southern Krmanji dialect, because his poems contain both Dialects. As a teenager, he suffered from an eye disease that left him blind, so he became known as Ahmadi Kor which means Ahmad the blind. Although he was not highly educated, he was intelligent and brilliant in all areas of life, especially in writing religious poetry. Ahmadi Kor lived in Sulaymaniyah for a long time, where he studied religion under the guidance of a famous sheikh he became very religious by and devoted himself to his god. He then returned to Sablakh and started teaching people the true path. He died in 1857 at the age of 85 in Bokan and was buried in Anbara cemetery. Ahmadi Kor's poems, most of which are devotional toward religion and the love of god, are very beautiful and charming. The most important characteristic of this prominent Kurdish poet's poems is that they are written in local weight of poetry. Although Ahmadi Kor used foreign words in his poems, this phenomenon has not weakened his works. Some ancient historical sources say that Ahmadi Kor also wrote poetry in Arabic and Persian, but all of them have been lost.
His Biography and the complete collection of his poems were published in the year 1999.[1]
