Media Zandi

Media Zandi
Zandi was born in 1940 in Mahabad. She entered the media at the age of 17 and started working for Kurdish Radio in Tehran. In 1958, when the Kurdish Radio of Iran was first opened in Tehran, she officially began her cooperation with this center.
Also in the 1960s in the Radio and Television Center, she continued his work as an announcer in Kermanshah and later in Sanaa and Radio Tehran.
Media Zandi began her career 40 years ago on Kurdish Radio Brun Marzi in Tehran, which broadcast programs abroad.
Ms. Media Zandi's main occupation was as an announcer at Kurdish Radio Tehran, reading news, and assisting the staff in most of the Kurdish radio stories and drama series broadcast on Iranian Radio and Television, Kurdish Radio Tehran, and Sahar TV.
Zandi, who was an announcer in the Kurdish section of Radio Tehran, married the national artist Hassan Zirak, who was also working on the radio at the time. The result of this marriage are two daughters, Mahtab (Arezoo) and Mahnaz (Sakar).
In May 2004, Kurdish students of Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran organized a Kurdish music, song, and dance festival to honor the years of artistic activities of famous Kurdish musicians and singers. Singer Hassan Zirak was awarded the prize and the plaque was collected by lady Zandi Media on behalf of Hassan Zirak's family.
Media Zandi in a book entitled Chrikay Kurdistan published during the lifetime of Hassan Zirak with the assistance of Dr. Mohammad Sadiq Mufti Zadeh and consisted of a biography of Hassan Zirak in Zirak's own poems, wrote an article on the position and characteristics of Hassan Zirak's art.
She later published the same book in a more beautiful and orderly manner. Dr. Mohammad Sadiq Mufti Zadeh wrote the introduction to the book. It was prepared and edited by Media Zandi and reviewed, edited, and translated by Farooq Boraki Safizadeh.
In 2004, with the efforts of Hassan Zirak's wife Media Zandi and a number of artists such as Saeed Farjpouri and other artists, Mahoor Cultural Company released 13 songs of Hassan Zirak's works in an album called Tranahay Hassan Zirak. This work consists of thirteen songs of the 1960s in Kurdish radios of Kermanshah and Tehran that were published in the form of cassettes and CDs in large circulation and at a high level with the best quality.
Ms. Media Zandi, wife of famous Kurdish singer Hassan Zirak and the first Kurdish female announcer of Kurdish Radio Tehran, Iran, passed away on Friday, 20-06-2008 at Toos Hospital in Tehran, Iran.[1]
